Confederation of Kerala Sahodaya Complexes
The Confederation of Kerala Sahodaya Complexes is an independent alliance of Sahodaya School Complexes across Kerala, serving as a collaborative platform that fuels mutual learning among CBSE-affiliated schools. Established in 2006, the Confederation was born to foster a synergy of ideas among member institutions—an alliance dedicated to achieving excellence in education. Registered under the Travancore–Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act No. 22 of 1955, and functioning in accordance with CBSE guidelines, the Confederation commits itself to a structured, transparent mode of governance. At its core, the Confederation exists to facilitate the collective growth and development of CBSE schools in Kerala. Rooted in the philosophy of the Sahodaya movement, it provides a platform for schools to come together, share resources, and exchange best practices that enhance both teaching and learning. By fostering collaboration rather than competition, the Confederation ensures that schools benefit from each other’s strengths, creating a community of continuous improvement. In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Confederation supports the vision of school complexes, where institutions function as interconnected networks rather than isolated entities. This approach widens access to academic resources, professional development opportunities, and co-curricular activities, enabling schools of varying sizes and capacities to rise together. Key Objectives & Activities Organizing training programs and competitions targeting both academic and co-curricular domains tailored for CBSE schools in Kerala. Hosting the All-Kerala CBSE Principals’ Conference, a biennial gathering for school leaders to align on strategies and future directions. Conducting the CBSE State Kalotsav, an annual arts festival where students from different Sahodaya complexes showcase their cultural talents. Facilitating scholarship examinations and model exams to foster analytical thinking, boost confidence, and familiarize students with board-style assessments. Publishing an annual magazine—a creative outlet to encourage student expression, cultivate writing skills, and celebrate scholastic and artistic achievements. The Confederation’s purpose extends beyond academics—it is also about nurturing shared values of empathy, cooperation, and environmental consciousness among schools. It creates avenues for dialogue between educators, leaders, and students, to shape a vibrant educational ecosystem in Kerala, one that is future-ready while deeply grounded in community spirit.

To provide diverse, accessible, and high-quality professional development opportunities for teachers and leaders at local, regional, national, and international levels. To foster a culture of lifelong learning that embraces new pedagogies, leadership strategies, and emerging educational technologies. To create platforms that promote the sharing of best practices, research-based innovations, and collaborative problem-solving. To align teacher and leadership development with the goals of NEP 2020, particularly competency-based, inclusive, and experiential education. Objectives Facilitate a minimum of 50 hours of CPD annually for all teachers and leaders, tailored to their professional needs and interests. Build teacher expertise in foundational literacy and numeracy, competency-based assessments, and diverse pedagogies such as experiential, arts-integrated, sports-integrated, and storytelling approaches. Equip school leaders with training in leadership, management, and pedagogical planning aligned to competency-based education. Develop and maintain online and offline platforms for collaboration, reflection, and sharing of innovative practices. Monitor, evaluate, and sustain the impact of CPD programs on classroom practices and student outcomes. Quality Policy ART Unit is committed to delivering continuous professional development of the highest quality by Ensuring all programs are evidence-based, need-driven, and aligned with NEP 2020. Offering flexible, blended, and accessible learning modes to cater to diverse educator needs. Regularly reviewing training content and methods to integrate the latest research and innovations in education. Promoting inclusivity, collaboration, and reflective practice across all CPD initiatives. Establishing transparent evaluation mechanisms to measure effectiveness and continuously improve training delivery. Training Provisions Regular online sessions of 1 hour duration followed by 30 minutes of structured reflection and discussion to consolidate learning. On-demand training programs designed to address emerging needs and specific requests from schools and educators. Online certificate courses of one-month duration on relevant topics, curated and delivered in alignment with CBSE guidelines. These provisions ensure continuous access to flexible and meaningful professional development opportunities, enabling teachers and school leaders to meet both their individual growth goals and the systemic requirements of NEP 2020.
